- Duffel bag (transporting gear to base camp)
- Tent (shared)
- Tarp (for groundcloth, shared)
- Stove & Fuel (shared, to be discussed in pre-trip meetings)
- Camp food (shared, to be discussed in pre-trip meetings)
- Sleeping bag (synthetic or down, +20°F rating. No cotton!)
- Sleeping pad (foam or thermarest-style, no air mattresses)
- Daypack for hiking, running (~1800 cubic inches capacity)
- Water bottles (two 1-liter, or one empty 2-liter plastic soda bottle)
- Large mug/bowl and spoon
- Trail food: PowerBars, Gu packets, Raisins/Peanuts, M&Ms, etc.
- Camp food: To be discussed at meeting
- Running shoes (already broken in, of course)
- Camp shoes
- Flips/Tevas for camp, playing in the water
- Underwear (5)
- Sox (5 non-cotton, some for running)
- Synthetic shirts (2, UnderArmour or Capilene style, for running/hiking)
- Synthetic tights (1, nylon/capilene, for running/hiking)
- T-shirts (4-5, cotton okay)
- Light wind/rain shell, with a hood
- Baseball cap or synthetic/wool beanie
- Synthetic pile jacket, down jacket, or wool sweater
- Running shorts (2 pair, for running, swimming)
- Swimsuit
- Shorts (1-2 pr, for camping, hiking)
- Warm long pants (1, fleece or expedition-weight synthetic preferred, cotton sweat pants okay)
- Jeans (1)
- Light synthetic gloves

- Toiletries bag (toothbrush, toothpaste, eyeglasses, contacts/solution, deodorant, shampoo, soap, etc.)
- Medicines (to be held by trip leaders)

- Half-roll of toilet paper in a ziploc baggie

This equipment has already been included in the “Student Packing List” above, but is listed again here separately so that students can have some idea of what we’ll be taking on our hiking/running excursions away from base camp.
